• 07 - First story about Amtgard appears in the Times newspaper.
• 17 - Atilla the Hun's Birthday Brawl. This was Amtgard's first official event. About 40 people showed up. Tawnee Darkfalcon and Joella Starwatcher were the first members signed up.
• 19 - First appearance of the company Starquesting Dragons.
• 26 - Amtgard challenges the S.C.A., and the S.C.A. breaks Amtgard's weapons.

• 05 - First battlegame at Memorial Park. Story about Amtgard appears in the Times newspaper.
• 13 - First Desert Fort Siege Battle, held off the Avenues of the Americas. First appearance of the company Lone Wolves.
• 19 - Battle at Album Park, Nashomi becomes the first Amtgard magic-user. First injury worth note, Thanos Darkside received a fractured ankle.
• 25 - Amtgard members visit Thanos Darkside in the hospital.
• 27 - First Amtgard Crown Tourney. There were three contestants, Tawnee Darkfalcon, Joella Starwatcher, and Pan Farstar. Tawnee was knighted and crowned Queen of the Land, Harnsaure was crowned Prince Consort, Joella was knighted as Champion of the Land. Amtgard Victory Revel at Putney Street Pub.

April

• 02 - The Great Easter Egg Battle. Nashomi is victorious. First appearance of the company Wandering Unicorns. The first successful use of a killing spell of wounding cast by Jasmine upon Harnsaure.
• 09 - Amtgard Hunt, four people hunted Nashomi for two hours unsuccessfully.
• 16 - First Order of the Lion, given to Nashomi. Battle for the Zeus Dagger, Tawnee Darkfalcon wins.
• 20 - First Amtgard Allthing, held at the Abode of LeGrue. Allthing had the first review of the rules. Creation of the Assassin the Archer classes.
• 22 - LeGrue's Nest Costume, Manners, and Persona Workshop.
• 23 - First appearance of Ghee's Raiders. The club members attempt to string up LeGrue for putting out distasteful fliers. Nashomi gets bitten and becomes a victim of vampirism and lycanthropy. Angtrhil the Butcher plays the first Assassin. Heimdale plays the first archer.

• Amtgard's largest game to date, 40 to 50 people played in the battlegame. First appearance of the Far Travellers and the Morluks. Elross Blueraven is the first Healer of Amtgard.

May

• 07 - First Amtgard Feast, held at Thanos Darkside's home. It was a potluck dinner. Thanos was given the title of Baron so he could establish an Amtgard chapter in Phoenix if he was forced to go. LeGrue prohibits Ghee's Raiders from participating at the feast. The club goes underground to hide from Ghee's Raiders.
• 08 - Noman (Aramithris) and Hansaure meet at Sumatra Park. Harnsaure attempts to recruit Ghee's Raiders into the Sons of the Black Death and fails.
• 14 - Formal alliance between the Starquesting Dragons and the Wandering Unicorns. First company competition held at Median Park, the Alliance wins. The companies participating were the Lone Wolves, Far Travellers, Golden Lions, and the Alliance. All of the Far Travellers' weapons broke forcing them out of the competition. Nashomi auctions Lorithil Darkmaiden to the highest bidder.
• 21 - Noman (Aramithris) organizes the first Amtgard style battle at Sumac Park for those who were chased out of Amtgard.
• 22 - Great Relic battle, Nashomi wins for team by evading other team for one hour alone (his team had been killed out early in the battle).
• 28 & 30 - Amtgard bought a table at the Questicon and hired out Amtgard assassins to kill people at the Con. LeGrue's last day of attendance.

June

• 04 - Amtgard's first quest, Quest for the Crown Treasure. Three teams tried to find the treasure, but all the clues had been removed from the area. By chance Nashomi found the buried treasure and won the quest. Harnsaure declares himself Puhbah for the club. Nashomi challenges the Far Travellers in a "To the Death Match," Nashomi wins.
• 11 - >A Prize Tourney, Nashomi wins. The prize was a kukri knife. Quest for the Magic Ring of Apollyon, the Far Travellers win.
• 18 - Nashomi becomes the first Master Wizard. Relic Battle held, Morluk and Deth win.
• 25 - Nothing of note.

July

• 03 - Battlegames.
• 06 - Second Amtgard Allthing, it was agreed that the Monarch and the Puhbah should share power over the club. Order of the Warrior was created and the Order of the Lion was split into two types; fighting and character.
• 10 & 11 - First Amtgard trip, 9 people in the club went to Cloudcroft the weekend. Two days of battles and night fighting. Nashomi becomes Amtgard's first Cattle Guard. A member takes a movie camera and Amtgard gets a home movie made.
• 17 - Nashomi brings out first homemade crossbow.
• 24 - Battlegames.

August

• Nothing of note other than battlegames happened in this month.

September

• 03 - Nashomi attempts to compile a working constitution for the club. Harnsaure was in total opposition to a government representative of the members (explained in a letter from Harnsaure to Nashomi).
• 05 & 09 - Gilos and Nashomi call a meeting of the other Amtgard members not supporting Harnsaure's ideals (the majority of the club backed Gilos and Nashomi). At this meeting they review and start the first rewriting of the Amtgard Handbook with a crude government included (Queen Tawnee was on vacation at this time).
• 10 - A Feast in the Park is held. The First Great Political Movement of Amtgard, the abolishment of the absolute rule of Puhbah over the club. The Puhbah Harnsaure leaves to start another chapter under his control.
• 17 - First Prime Minister Election. There were two contestants, Thanos Darkside and Nashomi. Nashomi was elected as the first Prime Minister.
• 24 - Start of the Sign-In Sheet.

October

• 01 - Chapter of the Burning Lands was formed; a separation from Harnsaure's Amtgard chapter. Gilos Dawnhope, Elross Blueraven, and Nashomi were declared the Consort Harem by Queen Tawnee Darkfalcon.
• 08 - First recorded use of the Slave Scenario.
• 15 - Second Prime Minister Election, Nashomi wins.
• 22 - Second Crown Tournament with Crown Contest, held at Mission Hills park. The victors were: Gilos Dawnhope becomes King, Andralaine of Stonehelven became Princess Consort, and Thanos Darkside was knighted as Champion. Nashomi became the first person to receive knighthood through obtainment of all ten Orders of the Lion. Gilos became a Master Reeve by scoring the highest on the first Reeve Test. Theo was appointed the Court Jester. Tawnee becomes first Duchess. There was a television interview on channel 7. Elross became the first Master Healer.

November

• 05 - Battlegames.
• 12 - Quest for the Ring of Power, Theo wins.
• 19 & 20 - The Las Cruces Renaissance Festival, Amtgard put on a public demo which included duelling matches. Over 200 people watched and about 15 mundanes and SCA'ers participated.
• 26 - Amtgard's second Great Political Movement, the attempted exile of Tawnee Darkfalcon and Nashomi, and the attempted overthrow of King Gilos Dawnhope by Thanos Darkside and followers (12 people, 10 of which were active members of Harnsaure's chapter, not of the Burning Lands).

December

• 03 - Burning Lands populace presents counter-petition to King Gilos against the petition presented by Thanos. The counter-petition held 27 names of Amtgard Chapter of the Burning Lands members.
• 10 - A Champion Tourney is held, Morluk the Merciless is knighted as Champion.
• 17 - Kalibria is chosen as Princess Consort by King Gilos Dawnhope. Desert battle and Christmas Feast held at the fortress of Nashomi.
• 24 - No Battlegame was held due to the Christmas weekend.
• 31 - Only 5 people sign in, lowest attendance on record.

January

• 07 - Battlegames.
• 14 - Andralaine returns from Great Adventure. First appearance of Aron. Nashomi spends most of the day hiding from Aron, due to the Gunfighter Syndrome.

• 18 - Andralaine of Stonehelven is given the title of Baroness by King Gilos Dawnhope. New Award certificates are presented.

• 03 - Battlegames.
• 10 - Formation of the Discolored Bird Society, Nashomi Redpigeon and Gilos Purpleduck become Amtgard representatives. Formation of the Northern Alliance.
• 17 - Alliance Battle, the Alliance vs. the Northern Alliance. The Alliance wins (about 6 victorious against 20). First Zombie battle on record.
• 24 - Quest for the Sword, Heimdale and Kalibria win. First appearance of the Dread Red Dragon (Nashomi).
• 31 - First victory of the Northern Alliance over the Alliance. First use of a catapult (White weapon), built by the Conans. Andralaine falls from a wall and hurts her tail bone (a semi-serious accident). Nashomi completes the first Doomsday spell.

April

• 07 - Quest for the Ring of Power held at Hueco Tanks, Deth the Direhearted wins.
• 14 - First Warlord Tourney, Deth wins. The reappearance of Ghee's Raiders. Official breakup of the Morluks (into the Corsairs and the Warriors for the Land Beyond).
• 20 - Newspaper article appears in the Friday Times, El Teimpo section.
• 21 - Crown Tourney Qualification Events, Tawnee Darkfalcon is the overall winner. Prime Minister election, Deth the Direhearted wins. Creation of the Iron Warrior Run. Lorithil Darkmaiden and Elross Blueraven are given titles of Baron and Baroness to start Amtgard chapters in Austin, Tx. Nashomi receives title of Count. Nashomi becomes the first warlord.
• 22 - Newspaper article appears in the Times Sunday paper in the local section. Television coverage by Channel 4.
• 28 - Third Crown Tournament, 8 finalists. Asmund Heimdale Haroldsson was knighted and crowned King of the Burning Lands, Ashrsa von Bloodstar was crowned Princess Cosort, and Conan Ator Morningstar was knighted as Champion. Gilos becomes Duke.

May

• 05 - Battlegames.
• 12 - Fox Across the River introduced by Aramithris.
• 19 - First Weapon Master Tourney, Morluk wins first place, Conan places second. First Crown Feast held at Tawnee Darkfalcon's home. It was held in King Asmund Heimdale Haroldsson's honor. The entertainment included a belly dancer.
• 26 - Battlegames.

June

• 02 - Castle Park Quest held for the public. It was designed for Amtgard players to be NPC's (non-player characters) and the public would participate in the quest.
• 09 - Testicles and Aramithris discuss the concept of a company where "all are equal." This is the basis for the Claw Legion.
• 16 - Aragoth appears at Amtgard in full scale mail armor.
• 23 - Zombie Battle, Testicles and Aramithris win by hiding at a Mundane's picnic. They both receive one Order of the Warrior, the first orders ever won by the Claw Legion. Andralaine and Silverleaf are also awarded orders. Silverleaf completes a Doomsday spell in a battle.
• 30 - Wolverine changes his surname to "Warstar," the first of 7 such alterations.

July

• 07 - Aramithris wins 15 straight duels and earns the first Order of the Lion won by the Claw Legion.
• 14 - Deth the Direhearted is knighted for service and outstanding play.
• 21 - Fourth Prime Minister Election, Croth Tralon wins by popular vote. Aredhel is declared a Master Archer after only 8 weeks of play.
• 28 - Wander Unicorns withdraw from the Alliance. First appearance of the Bladesmen. Two-man team scenario, Deth and Nashomi win.

August

• 04 - Allthing, Guild Masters are first appointed for every class. The new armor rating system is introduced by Ghee.
• 10 - Tawnee wrote "The Responsibility of a Knight" and offers fealty to King Asmund Heimdale Haroldsson.
• 11 - Some Amtgard members go to the SCA Moonlight Tourney in Roswell, N.M. Amtgard in El Paso is rained out, first time weather has interfered with the battlegames.
• 18 - Second Amtgard camping trip, to the Lincoln National Forest at the Sleepy Grass Campground.
• 25 - Official founding of the Claw Legion, first appearance of the unit's company flag and history.

September

• 01 - New magic system for wizards is published, it is titled the Magik Book. Newsletters were also published this weekend. Proposal and tentative acceptance for the Smith's Guild.
• 08 - King Asmund Heimdale Haroldsson holds court in the park. Shylarra was declared Princess Consort and Ghee is given the title of Lord. Majik the Wonder Dog becomes the first non-human to reeve at an Amtgard event. Morluk plays the first Anti-Paladin.
• 15 - Allthing in the park, the Smith Guild was formed. The basic tenets were established and the initial members were; Andralaine, Aramithris, Ghee, Nashomi, and Tawnee. Smith Guild Publication (SGP) #1: Weaponmaster Rating System is published. The official Amtgard year is instigated and the new dues system voted in.
• 22 - A garb workshop sponsored by Tawnee was held. First appearance of the Monk and the Bard classes. Aragoth tries to bash in Nashomi's head with Skullsplitter. Aredhel appears as the first Monk. Tawnee appears as the first Bard. SGP #2: Tournament Formats, is given out.
• 20 - Quest for the Ring of Power sponsored by Prime Minister Croth, Tawnee and Kalibria win, they give Charloc the Ring for defending them. A new edition of the Handbook is passed out.

October

• 02 - Amtgard bank account was established by the Trustees.
• 06 - Declarations of Intent for the Crown Tourney due. A massive amount of dueling for orders. Theo, Aragoth, and M'Deth all win several orders. SCA influx into Amtgard. Slave scenario, Alric and Aramithris win.
• 13 - Second Crown Tourney Qualifications held at the park. He Who Loves Small Fury Animals was given the title of Baron to start his own chapter of Amtgard when he leaves town. In Garb We Trust is presented to the club. First Claw Legion roster listed at 25 people.
• 18 - Archery is approved in the park by Robert E. Keys. Heimdale did all of the work to have archery approved.
• 20 - Fourth Crown Tourney held. Andralaine of Stonehelven was knighted and givethe title of Viscountess for outstanding play and service. She was also married to Berek the Hunter by King Heimdale. Nashomi the Silver Wolf was crowned King, Shindea of Winddragon was crowned Princess, and Tawnee Darkfalcon was declared Champion of the Realm. A first election of the Guild Masters and the Council of 13. Ghee introduces his Three Flag Battle.
• 27 - The Council of 13 held their first Allthing. Alric is elected into the Smith Guild. SGP #3: Definition of Guild Duties, is distributed.

November

• 03 - The Quest for the Sword of Flame was held, the winning team was Gilos, Rift and Tawnee. The first Coronation Feast is held for Nashomi the Silver Wolf. The Feast theme was Pern (by Ann McCaffrey). First awarding of the Order of the Jovius, to Wolverine. First awarding of the Order of the Flame to the Claw Legion. Presentation of the Shield of Chivalry to Asmund Heimdale Haroldsson (receives the title of Princess' Defender). Shylarra is given the honorary title of "Handmaiden to the Princess" to help the Princess in the performance of her duties. Kalibria becomes the first true Master Reeve by reeving more than 20 events and passing the Reeve Test. Kalibria and Shylarra are given titles of Lady. First appearance of the Barbarian class. First Claw Legion Supplement is published. Heimdale becomes a Duke.

December

• 01 - Crown letter and advertisement papers come out. The Bladesmen dissolve and the Starquesting Dragons has a membership boost. SGP #5: the Weapons and Armor of Amtgard is distributed.
• 08 - SGP # 6 & 7: the first Amtgard Trivia Quiz is passed out.
• 15 - Amtgard is almost snowed out, only nine people sign in for the day. SGP # 8 & 9: Masterhood criteria established for Garbers, Smiths, and the Orders of the Dragon, Owl, Mask, and the Jovius.
• 22 - The Day of the Flying Glass, four people have their glasses knocked off their faces. SGP #10: A Tribute to the Winners of 1984 is given out.
• 23 - SGP #11, the team of Alric, Shylarra and Gwynne win the first Trivia Quiz.
• 29 - Allthing. "Attack of the Killer Barbarians," the tribe of Barbarians is formed.

January

• 01 - New Year's day Battle, called together by Morluk. SGP #12: Overall Standing from 1984 events. - 05 - Many people are killed in the parking lot as victims in the Game of Killer. Siege of the Mountain King held on Mount Cristo Rey.
• 11 - Allthing held at the Village Inn, approval of the Minister candidates. The Monster class is approved. SGP #13: Demographic Survey is given out. "100 Weeks of Amtgard: History in Brief" is published by Tawnee.
• 12 - "Battle in the Snow," only nine people sign in and fight.
• 19 - Election of the Prime Minister and new Council. Aramithris becomes the Prime Minister. Winter Feast held at Andralaine's home. First awarding of the Order of the Walker of the Middle to Alric of the Emerald Isle. Tawnee Darkfalcon and Joella Starwatcher given titles of Mistress of the Order of the Dragon. Tawnee is given the title of Mistress of the Garbers Guild.
• 26 - Allthing is held, the presentation of the new non-magical Bard class. Tawnee becomes the first Master Bard.

February

• 02 - Rules of Order for Allthings finished by the Committee; M'Deth, Gilos, and Nashomi. SGP #14: Second Amtgard Trivia Quiz is passed out. Deth and Aramithris tie for first in the Free-For-All melee.
• 09 - Quest for the Shield of Reflection sponsored by Ghee. Joella Starwatcher wins. First use of the Monster class in the Quest. Smith Guild Publication #15, the Demographic Survey (compiled by Aramithris) is given out.
• 16 - First review of the new handbook (compiled by Nashomi). Some Amtgard members go to the Estrella War in Phoenix.
• 23 - Quest for the Sword of Flame, the team of Ghee, Scarhart, Grimbold and Charloc wins. Amtgard is rained and frozen out of the Park, shortest Amtgard event held. Mockvere becomes the first Master Monk in Amtgard. SGP #16: Second Trivia Quiz Results, Tawnee Darkfalcon's team wins. Publication of "Self-Regenerating Power" a survey of the awards distribution to the companies of Amtgard. An Allthing was held, the Circle of Steel was passed, a committee made up of active company captains that would set up more company oriented activities in the club.

March

• 01 - Meeting of Nashomi, Tawnee and Gilos to discuss policies and the future of Knighthood.
• 02 - The Who's Who at Amtgard, SGP 17 is distributed and the Amtgard Membership Files are published. According to the Membership Files over 191 people are listed as members of the Burning Lands to this date. Smith Guild first passes out Certificates for the Member of the Month. Karl Scrimpsher invents the sport of full contact, asphalt body surviving (he received only minor injuries). First appearance of the Dread Hobbits.
• 09 - King Nashomi holds a brief Court and knights his squire Charloc. Sir Charloc was to depart from the Burning Lands to establish another Kingdom in the East, perhaps to never be seen again in the Burning Lands. A Progressive Dueling Tourney was held, Pyro's team won, Ajax second, and Karl third.
• 13 - Morluk calls together a Spring Break Battle in Memorial Park.
• 16 - The SCA holds a coronet Tourney in Memorial Park, Duchess Tawnee Darkfalcon invites the Prince to participate. Due to a busy schedule he was unable but several of their members did observe our battlegames. An Allthing was held and it was agreed by participating members to hold Allthings on other days but not on Saturdays. SGP #19: Progressive Game Results.
• 23 - Company battles held in the Park, the Claw Legion wins. Three-man team free-for-all. Tie between Deth and Aramithris. Heimdale becomes captain of the Wandering Unicorns.
• 30 - Quest for the Ring of Power at Hueco Tanks. Joella is chosen as Smith's Guild member of the month.

April

• 06 - Amtgard Easter Egg Hunt in the Park. Rift recovered the most eggs. A three team flag battle was held. The teams were divided into the four Barbarians as a raiding party, the five Monks were in charge of the Holy Temple and the third team consisted of the non-magical warriors and archers. The Hold Forces of the Temple purged the land of the vile Heretics. Aramithris, Nashomi and Tawnee all put out fliers and information sheets totaling about 15 pages of club info and three calendars of events. Combat Football was introduced.
• 07 - Easter revel at Tawnee's home.
• 12 - Last meeting of the second Council. A new system of Knighthood is introduced, dividing Knighthood into four different categories.
• 20 - Elections and Third Crown Tourney Qualifications. Only five of the eight people who declared for Crown Tourney enter the events and qualify. M'Deth finishes first, Scarhart second and Tawnee third. The Claw Legion defeats the Brotherhood in a tug of war contest. The Claw Legion scores the most over-all points in the qualifications.
• 27 - Many Amtgard members go to the SCA war with Ans De Or. M'Deth is chosen as Smith's Guild member of the month.

May

• 04 - Fifth Crown tourney held. M'Deth was crowned king, Tawnee Darkfalcon was crowned princess, and Rift Gorhan tele was declared champion of the realm. Nashomi becomes duke; Shindea becomes countess. Kalibria, Esuom aph' taed, M'Deth, and Aramithris were all knighted.
• 11 - Weaponmaster tourney III is held. King M'Deth wins and Aramithris finishes second overall. The Claw Legion scores the most overall points. Deth, Aramithris, and M'Deth all earn their 10th level order of the warrior and become Warlords. The club newsletter is revived by Aramithris. It is titled "Tales from the Burning Lands."
• 18 - SGP #23: Amtgard Trivia Quiz III, is passed out. Crown Coronation Feast at the abode of Andralaine and Berrik. Kalibria, Shylarra, and Joella are each given the title of baronet. Aramithris demonstrates the effects of alcohol on swordplay by using the Champion's sword to split Scarhart's tunic at the shoulder seam.
• 25 - A very small turnout due to graduation ceremonies and an out of town SCA event. Zombie scenarios and a night battle are held. Testicles, Aramithris, Tawnee, and Kalibria are the scenario winners. M'Deth is again chosen as Smith's Guild member of the month.

June

• 01 - Darklord scenario organized by M'Deth. The Council is dissolved in favor of a more general Allthing.
• 08 - "Tales from the Burning Lands #2" is distributed. Three-man team dueling introduced by M'Deth. Johann is the overall winner. Poker ship scenario organized by Aron and Elizabeth. 57 people sign in, an all-time record Amtgard high.
• 15 - Curse of the Mummy scenario organized by Gilos. Rift plays the firs true mummy. The team of Joella, Scarhart, and Kalibria wins the third Amtgard Trivia Quiz. Isacar membership drive. Aron again departs on a great journey.
• 17 - Impromptu Amtgard battle held at Edgemere Park.
• 21 - Amtgard camping trip.
  • 1st day:
    Arrival and camp set up. Wandering Unicorns have a caber toss.
    1st night:
    Aramithris and the Corsairs raid the other companies' camps and steal their banners.
  • 2nd day:
    The Claw Legion arrives in force and storms the Amtgard encampments at dawn. Casualties among the sleepers exceed 80%. Battle for the Dagger of Infinite Penetration, M'Deth wins.
    2nd night:
    Scarhart organizes a strike force to kidnap Tawnee from the Starquesting Dragon camp. The Dragons refuse to pay the ransom and a battle ensues, with a truce being called due to mutual exhaustion. Legolin becomes a lord at this, his last Amtgard appearance.
  • 3rd day:
    Break camp and depart for El Paso.
• 29 - Temple and Toll-troll (ogres, actually) variations on the bridge-siege scenario. Wu Tao is chosen as Smith's Guild member of the month.

July

• 06 - King Charloc of the Amtgard chapter in Chicago returns for a visit. He challenges M'Deth to a best two out of three dueling match. King M'Deth of the Burning Lands is victorious. Hellspawn, Pyro, Theo and Rift are made lords. Esuom becomes a lady.
• 13 - The return of Aron. Four candidates announce for the prime minister election. SCA Renaissance Fair held at the El Paso Street Festival.
• 20 - Prime Minister election- Joella Starwatcher is elected. A large number of mundanes witness two battles. These are followed by some knife dueling and night battles. Aramithris becomes a baron.
• 27 - Introduction of the two fort battle and the team captain subdual scenarios. Fliers passed out for the first Isacar feast. The month of July saw a marked increase in the number of people wearing body armor. Smiths Guild Amtgard member of the month (Order of the Zodiac) is Charloc. Claw Legion member of the month (Order of the Maniple) is Theo.

August

• 03 - Weapons check reinitiated. Tourney run by Hellspawn and Rammork. Deth beats Aegar (Berrik) in the final. Meeting of the knights called by King M'Deth to discuss policies on knighting people.
• 10 - Three man team free for all won by Deth. Hellspawn unveils the combat art of "crutch-fu."
• 14 - Night battle at Red Sands organized by Zyax and the Corsairs.
• 16 - Feast of Saint Roch held at Castle Escuyer. New battle flags presented to the club by Andralaine and Isacar. Gilos wins the trivia contest. Alric is awarded the title of thane. Morluk is made a warlord.
• 17 - First phase of a five team company competition. Dachs returns with info about possible Amtgard involvement in the upcoming Amigocon science fiction and fantasy convention.
• 24 - Several people go on a camping trip to Cloudcroft while others stay in El Paso for battlegames. This is the first instance in which Amtgard stages simultaneous events at different locations.

• 02 - Labor day battles organized by Aegar.
• 07 - Joella is inducted into the Smiths guild. M'Deth becomes sergeant of the Claw Legion. Aramithris gives the club an impromptu lesson on the quick method of entering slit trenches.
• 13 - Several Amtgard members go to a costume contest at the Phoenix.
• 14 - Tales from the Burning Lands #4 is published by Joella. Meeting of the Magic users guild. Quest for the Sword of Flame sponsored by Scarhart. The defending team wins and Gilos, Wu Tao, and Aramithris are awarded the sword for their defense of its bearer. Bridge over chasm game introduced by Master Mundane Joe Cook.
• 21 - Quest for the Homestone sponsored by Wu Tao. Aredhel wins. Flag battle with teams picked by the mundanes. A three page handout satirizing Amtgard is distributed by Andralaine.
• 28 - Honor game organized by Michael and Ghee. Rift wins. Flag battle won by the Corsairs. Order of the Zodiac awarded to Wu Tao.

October

• 05 - Quest for the Ring of Power sponsored by Andralaine. Four prizes are offered. Rena wins the Ring of Power. Many viewed the day's events which were taped on a VCR at the new dwelling of Rift, Aron, Elizabeth, Ivan and some other homeless people.
• 12 - Crown Qualifications/Guildmaster Elections were sponsored by Gilos and Aramithris. The overall winners were Tawnee (1st), M'Deth (2nd), and Heimdale (3rd). Two man team dueling was held with the team of M'Deth and Heimdale winning with 6-0-1.
• 19 - Crown Tournament was held and was sponsored by Gilos and Aramithris. The new monarch is Heimdale with his consort, Rena. The Champion is M'Deth. A circle of cement is discovered at the top of the old meeting hill and a new game is invented: try to get around the circle 360 degrees- one team going clockwise, the other counter-clockwise. The Sardakar were formed and the Fremen fought back.
• 26 - Attendance during the day was low as many were preparing for the Crown Feast scheduled for that night. At the feast, which was masquerade ball there was a wide variety of costumes and surprises: Esuom wore a dress, Kalibria was a nun, M'Deth was Aramithris, Aramithris was M'Deth, Rift was a shambles and he brought a little mess with him as well. Guildmaster sashes and notebooks were handed out.

November

• 02 - Weaponmaster IV was sponsored by Aramithris. Aredhel won and M'Deth got second while Aegar placed third. Today was the second time that the new time schedule of beginning at 12:00 was implemented. Order of the Maniple was awarded to M'Deth. Order of the Zodiac was awarded to Joella.
• 09 - An Allthing is held, the first under the new Monarch. Nothing definite is voted on. Everyone agrees to let everyone know about any proposed class changes before they get put to a vote. They also agree to give any changes a trial period before making them permanent. It is decided to put the age limit of 12 to 14, they must have their parent's consent and anyone under 12 cannot play unless they stay at their fort only. The Sable Pegasi was dissolved into a household.
• 16 - Dueling for orders was dominated by Zyax and the rest of the Corsairs. A four team battle is organized. There is no clear winner but the team of the King's Guard and the Sardakar cover themselves in honor and glory. Tales from the Burning Lands #5 is distributed.
• 17 - An Amtgard demonstration is held at the El Paso Comic Book Convention.
• 23 - Nothing of much note. The arts publication, Serpentine Press was distributed.
• 30 - There is a notable increase in membership of younger people from the surrounding area.

December

• 07 - An Allthing was held but nothing was voted on since there wasn't a majority present.
• 13 - A knight's meeting was called. It was called to discuss a split of the guild to paladin and anti-paladin. - 14 - The day was filled with bridge sieges. The first was knights and squires versus everyone else. The knights held off the attacking force more easily than anticipated. The second scenario was armored people versus everyone else.
• 21 - Zombie scenario was held and won by Kountor.
• 22 - Duke M'Deth called together a Sunday battle at Trawood park. The Claw Legion's honorary cohort of Aragoth and Kobli made a rare appearance. Aredhel introduced Kalibria to a new type of ground grass.
• 28 - Aegar and Rift won the Dagger of Infinite Penetration quest sponsored by Aramithris. Lone Wolf begins Phoenix company and Scrimpsher begins Black Company. Michael and Jackal begin idea of College of Arms for Amtgard. Wolverine adds another last name, Swordbreaker, to his already long list of surnames. As of 12/31/85 Amtgard has had a total of 321 members.

January

• 04 - Allthing was held and a new procedure was adopted for allowing those 14 or less to fight. Also a new procedure for changing the rules was voted upon. Aron, Testicles and Marcus return after a long absence.
• 11 - Flyers passed out for Isacar Midwinter Feast. Introduction of new rules for Paladins, Anti-Paladins and Warriors. Declarations for Prime Minister election are turned in. Ariona's last day at Amtgard. She became the first person to use three relics at once. King Heimdale declares her to be Lady Ariona.
• 18 - Prime Minister election held. Abedon elected. Guildmaster rules were passed out.
• 25 - Attendance was 62 which became a new all time record. Many thought it was going to be the battle of the Munchkins versus Amtgard as the Salvation Army had brought 500 + kids to the park. Joella was knighted by King Heimdale and also became Baroness for having been Prime Minister.
• 31 - Midwinter Feast sponsored by Isacar. Phoenix, Rat Pack, Sentinels recognized as official Amtgard companies. There were many entrants in the talent contest; Maxmillian, Pan, Joella to name a few. Ajax was the final winner.

February

• 01 - Attendance was 71, breaking the previous week's attendance of 62. Election for the knight's class heads with Morluk elected head of the Anti-Paladins and Aramithris the head of the Paladins. Andralaine donated a fourth battle flag to the club. The Sardukar fought together as a unit against the rest of Amtgard.
• 08 - The weather was extremely cold for seige battles.
• 15 - Many members attending the SCA war in Phoenix.

• 08 - Meeting of the King's guard to determine future policies and priorities.
• 10 - Change to summer time schedule. Article about Amtgard appears in Reveille magazine. Seige and bridge battles held.
• 17 - Zombie battle won by Testicles. Flag and chasm battles held. Introduction of the Romans versus Barbarians scenario. Johann's last day at Amtgard. He is declared a Knight of the Sword by Morlkuk, although most of the Knights dispute this action.
• 23 - (thru 5/26) SCA Grand Outlandish in Albuquerque. Joella finished 1st and Ryah takes 2nd in the women's boffer tourney. Paladren wins the "children's" boffer tourney and is declared "Bofer Warlord of the Outlands." The Claw Legion and its allies appear with fight in matching surcoats. Other highlights: Aron fetches a high price at the kissing auction; and the Claw Legion stages an Amtgard demonstration and defeats all comers.

• 05 - Seige, flag, and ditch battles. An out of town camping trip contributed to a low attendance. An Amtgard team of 10 people fights and wins its first two games of "Photon." As of this date 383 people have signed in and participated at Amtgard.
• 12 - Tournaments for the Sword of Flame, the Dagger of Infinite Penetration, and the Homestone sponsored by Aramithris; Aegar wins the sword, Avalon wins the dagger, and Joella wins the Homestone. Weapons scrambles won by Aramithris. Zyax is made a Knight of the Sword.
• 19 - Darklord scenario organized by Charloc. Fox across the river tourney won my Mikhale Jaxon. Ahira is elected as Prime Minister and Abedon becomes a Baroness. The order of the Flame is awared to the Sardakar.
• 26 - Morluk departs on a great journey; He receives the title of Viscount. Aredhel becomes the new King of the Burning Lands. M'Deth becomes Champion. On this day of Morluk's abdication, T.F.B.L. V.2, #3 was published by Aramithris.

August

• 02 - The first court of King Aredhel was held. There was a SCA Citadel champion tourney. Amtgard was observed by several SCA members.
• 09 - The Princess' Defender tourney was run by Michael. Aramithris won with Ryah finishing second.
• 16 - The quest for the Shield of Reflection was postponed. Ahira introduced a new pitched battle scenario and several bridge battles were held.
• 22 - 24 - The only Amtgard camping trip of the summer was held.
  • On the first day a Zombie night battle was won by Andre and Kurse.- On the 2nd day a round robin plunder tourney was run by Esuom. Aramithris won with M'Deth finishing second. Ariona's impromptu bridal shower was held with Gwynne, AnnaMae, Joella, and various males attending since it was held in their tent. A flag battle was held later.- On the final day everyone packed up before the rains descended.
• 23 - Lord Ghee ran dueling for those staying in the Burning Lands. Notable was the appearance of a leper bearing a remarkable resemblance to the infamous founder of Amtgard, Peter LeGrue. Kam'Aron had the best record.
• 28 - Rehearsal for the wedding on August 30. About 20 Amtgarders participated. The last of 30-odd banners were collected that were to decorate the feast hall at the wedding.
• 30 - M'Deth and Ariona were wed at an Amtgard-style wedding and the reception was held in the Album park shelter. This event received media coverage from the networks and the associated press who carried the news as far away as Austin. Rine-O won the wedding tourney and Nashomi placed second. Attendance was about 130 with half of these being Amtgarders. Order of the warrior favors were passed out and the Sardakar received official garb and favors.

September

• 01 - Labor day battles were held by Gilos. Seige scenarios were played.
• 03 - The first meeting of the Tales from the Burning Lands staff was held at Ryah's and the committee that was sponsoring Crown qualifications attended as well.
• 06 - Quest for the Shield of Reflection, a demon scenario, was run by Lady Ryah. The shield was won by Aramithris, a weapon of choice won by Ahira, Kurse, and Andre, and a tunic by Xevious Aronsson. An Allthing was held at Ryah's about eleven O'clock in the evening, and the new Colleges of Arts and Sciences were announced.
• 13 - T.F.B.L. V.2, #4 published by Ryah. Multiple flag battles and a zombie battle at night.
• 20 - Much of Amtgard crashes Peter LeGrue's tourney. Introduction of the shield wall and cavalry versus infantry scenarios.
• 27 - Seige, flag, and zombie battles. Gilos and Tawnee become the first person to have played every class.

October

• 04 - Declarations for Crown due and Guildmaster elections initiated. Costume party at Scarhart's residence 50 Amtgarders attended.
• 11 - Crown Qualification events were held in 31 different categories. Based on a system of 1st = 3 points, 2nd = 2 points, and 3rd = 1 point, Aramithris was the overall winner with 32 points and Aredhel was 2nd with 15 points. The Claw Legion outscored all other companies combined 85 to 57. Guildmaster elections were completed.
• 18 - Crown election- Aramithris elected as monarch with Ariona as his consort. Champion tourney won by Aredhel with Andre becoming Princess' Defender by finishing 2nd. Nashomi brought out a movie camera to film Amtgard and showed these home movies at the abode of Ryah later than evening. Official formation of the Warlords of Valhalla.
• 25 - Crown Coronation Feast sponsored by Ariona, Joella, and Esuom. Guildmaster belt favors, the royal guards, and orders were awarded at this time. Titles awarded: Aredhel-Earl, Kalibria-Countess, Gwynne-Lady. Ryah was knighted into the order of Knights of the Flame. Entertainment ws provided by the Minstrels and Theatrical guilds. Talon and Spandex Dave wed in Amtgard.
• 30 - Kam'Aron wears combined Amtgard SCA armor to a pep rally.

November

• 01 - Weaponmaster tournament. Aredhel wins. Rine-O takes 2nd and Kurse places 3rd. The Claw Legion edges out Carthorin in total team points.
• 08 - Three flag battles plus a good versus evil battle- the forces of good were trimphant. Party at the abode of Grimbold (groundwork set for a possible Amtgard in Albuquerque, NM) "Sew What," the first Garber's guild publication, published by Gwynne.

• 04 - The advent of rain forces the scheduled Allthing to take place at a Pizza Inn. The Allthing approved all Monarch's consort candidates and voted to make this Crown selection process an elected affair. Magda presents the SCA's criteria for Amtgard's attendance at Grand Outlandish. Some trouble for the Corsairs with the railroad. Guildmaster elections. T.F.B.L. Vol. 3, #2 published by Aramithris. The birthdays of Ryah and Kalibria are celebrated.
• 05 - Corsair meeting to settle internal differences and to plan for the Crown feast.
• 11 - Seventh semi-annual Crown Qualifications. Nithanalorn scored the most overall points; Aredhel and Aramithris tied for second and Tawnee took third. The Claw Legion scored the most company points. Mourner's tourney run by Michael- one ounce of silver awarded to: Aramithris for winning the tourney, Rift for best death, and Elycia for best mourner. Michael was made a lord.
• 17 - Friday Amtgard- listless battles in unseasonably warm temperatures.
• 18 - Crown election: Aredhel is elected Crown Prince over Rift by a 20 - 16 margin. Andre wins the Champion's tourney. Amtgard Civil War battle won by the loyalist forces of the King over the minions of the Crown Prince. Gwynne becomes consort.
• 25 - Weaponmaster Tourney VII sponsored by Aredhel. Aramithris edged out Morluk for first place. Larce and Gilos tied for third. Crown Feast sponsored by the Corsairs. Guildmaster belt favors were passed out. Aramithris became a Duke, Ariona became a Countess in absentia, and Aredhel received the title of Defender.

May

• 01 - Amtgard demonstration at UTEP's Spring Miner Madness festivities. A couple hundred spectators were treated to an hour and a half of excellent fighting. There was some footage of Amtgard that night on the news.
• 02 - Amtgard scattered to the four winds: Amigocon II, the Mayfair games, Citadel Champion's Tourney, and the battlegames at Memorial park. First bi-annual No Champs Tourney won by Hellspawn. Barbarian civil war battle.
• 03 - Amtgard demo at Amigocon. Among the spectators were a large number of SCA members. Amtgard had a table and distributed fliers and handbooks.
• 07 - Large attendance with many new members. Four flag and two flag wars. Single sword ditch battles. The new monster Handbook by Nithanalorn.
• 14 - Garb workshop at Ryah's house.
• 16 - A visit by Master Bard Scarhart (He delivers a report on the "Medieval Madness" foam weapons society in San Diego). Naes and Ahira win the Ring of Power in a two-man teams tourney.
• 22 - (thru 05/25) SCA Grand Outlandish in Albuquerque. Almost 50 Amtgardians made the trip. Various highlights of the weekend included the Highwaymen of Crimson forest, Amtgard battles which included about 30 SCA members, and Sterling of Joatman finishing in the archery tourney.
• 29 - Seige and flag battles eventually disbanded due to dust and wind.

June

• 06 - Flag battles in a hot and rather uneventful day.
• 13 - Petition by Tawnee to pass new magic rules.
• 19 - 21 - Annual Amtgard camping trip at Sleepy Grass. Among the highlights were the Barbarian feast and the mourning of the dead for the winners of the cookie-tossing contest.
• 27 - A hot day kept the fighting short and uneventful.

• 04 - Another hot and boring day.
• 11 - Hot weather, listless battlegames. Allthing to discuss proposed additions to the Magic User's class.
• 18 - Small Amtgard due to many people being out of town. Tales from the Burning Lands Volume 3, #3 published.
• 25 - Ryah elected Prime Minister. Sterling's Amtgard archery prize tourney won by Naes with Aramithris second. Results of a 3 question quiz yield the Sword of Flame to Tawnee and the Dagger of Penetration to Delphos.

• 08 - Late start for night battles. A very fun zombie game in a driving rainstorm. Morluk and Angus were the last survivors. TFBL, Vol. 3, #4 published.
• 09 - Graduation party at the abode of Zyax.
• 15 - Publication of The Amtgard Book by Aramithris.
• 22 - Small turnout due to various other period events. Flag battles in a constant drizzle.

The feast was a pot-luck affair with 9 bottles of wine awarded to Theo for best dish. The Golden Lions received the Order of the Flame. Feast ballads were performed by Scarhart.

Flag battles, bridge battles and fox-across-the-river. Party at Honto's. Club voted to elect the next monarch instead of by a tourney with a 28-18 margin. Official publication date of updated handbook.
• 19 - The new updated and copyrighted handbook was passed out to many club members.

• 02 - Battlegames.
• 09 - Crown Qualifications with the Claw Legion taking first overall and the Golden Lions taking second.
• 13 - Contact with and recognition of the new Amtgard groups of Barad Duin and the Emerald Hills. In recognition of their efforts in forming these groups in Austin and Dalls, King Aramithris made Nithanalorn a Knight of the Serpent and made Delphos a lord.
• 16 - Heimdale returns. Crown elections held with a tie of 23-23 between M'Deth and Theo. After a discussion between the Monarch, Prime Minister, Reeve Guildmaster and the candidates, the candidates reached a decision to fight a tourney of single-sword, best two out of three. M'Deth won and because of his diverse efforts for the Kingdom, Theo was made a Knight of the Flame. The Champion's tourney had Scarhart winning undefeated.
• 22 - Feast set up by the Claw Legion.
• 23 - Crown Feast sponsored by Kalibria. Aramithris and Heimdale were awarded the title of Grand Duke and Aredhel was given the title of Arch Duke.

Martin Razclaw of the Mystic Valley was made a Baron.

• 04 - No Champs Tourney won by Ryah during her brief reappearance in the Burning Lands. Theo took 2nd and Honto took 3rd. First order of the Gladius awarded to Andre. Plans made to attend the Emerald Hills Coronation. Party that night at Pompeii.
• 11 - The return of Countess Ariona was celebrated at dinner at a local inn. Crown attendance at the Emerald Hills coronation.
• 18 - Appearance of several new members.
• 23 - Amended Articles of Incorporation approved by the State, further clearing the way for tax exemption for Amtgard, Kingdom of the Burning Lands.
• 25 - 4 team battle with the King's Guard, Golden Lions, Corsairs and a team of Claw, Dragon and others. The club saved the Princess from the King's Guard. There was a Scavenger Hunt for trash. Bottles of libations were given to the winners. Xevious was 1st, Altair 2nd, and Tony was 3rd. Another Drunken Man's Tourney held that night; Aramithris finished first with Theo second, and Larce third.

• 04 - A small turnout due to inclement weather. A Burning Lands contingent present at the Barad-Duin Ducal Coronation. A Burning Lands-Emerald Hills army defeats Barad-Duin the the War for Hueco.
• 10 - Pre-Olympiad parties and judging for the Olympiad literary entries.
• 11 - First day of competition in the first ever Amtgard Interkingdom Olympiad. Shenai and dry-foil fencing were held for the first time as Amtgard events. Herbalism and needlework were judged as separate Arts and Sciences categories for the first time. The Olympiad feast was held that evening.
• 12 - Second full day of Olympiad competition. Eventual overall war event champion was M'Deth. Tawnee was the overall cultural event winner. Approximate attendance for the weekend was 110.
• 19 - Large sign-in for flag battles. King Gilos passes out the prizes won in the Olympiad.
• 22 - A small Amtgard at Ponder Park.
• 25 - Bunny Hunt organized by Princess Tawnee and starring Naes. The winning team was awarded cokes. The Corsairs travel to the Emerald Hills en masse.

• 01 - Four first time guildmasters (Nanoc, Caliban, Caspin, Raxx). Start of the chess tourney. Four couples declare for crown. Crown written entries judged. Flag battles.

• 08 - Crown qualifications sponsored by Gwynne. Tawnee and Aramithris tied for first overall, Shylarra was second, and Ariona and M'Deth tied for third. Astrean and Nanoc were first time qualifiers (nine qualified). Two crown contestants failed the reeve's test three times and were not allowed to qualify.
• 12 - Small fighter practice.
• 15 - Crown election: won by Queen Tawnee and Prince Aramithris by a 2 to 1 margin. M'Deth won the champion tourney. Tiger was recognized as Lord of the Shire of the Golden Mist in Lubbock, TX. Pompeii party that night.
• 19 - Fighter practice. Speech about Amtgard given by Aredhel at U.T.E.P.
• 20 - Tawnee's letter to the Celestial Kingdom on status requirements to be an Amtgard group.
• 22 - Amigocon 4 included an Amtgard demo of 40 people and an Amtgard dealer's table.

• 29 - Crown feast of the Burning Lands attended by 100 people (oriental food). Crowning of Tawnee and Aramithris. Gilos became a Grand Duke, and Ahira a Defender. Marika was given the title of Lady and Dachs became a Lord. All the royal guards wore matched tunics and Barad-Duin achieved the status of a Grand Duchy.

Claw Legion meeting and party to plan for 10th year ends up accomplishing many wonderous and diverse objectives none of which involved 10th year. As of this date official all time attendance in the Burning Lands has exceeded 2,500 different people.

April

• 03 - Crown declarations and written entries due. Two couples declare. Guildmaster elections. Crown chess tourney won by Aramithris with Mad Hatter 2nd and Max 3rd. Flag and ditch battles.
• 10 - Crown qualifications sponsored by Terarin. Cultural top 3 standings were, lst Aramithris with 40 pts., 2nd Tawnee with 25 pts, and 3rd Gwynne with 23 pts. Eighteen people qualified for Crown in this, the best qualifications in over 3 years. Outstanding events included cooking, factual writing, and armor construction. M'Deth was the overall war event winner and The Claw Legion scored the most overall points.
• 16 - (through 04/18) Amtgard demo at Amigocon 8. Not a great con with a so-so Amtgard demo, Aramithris on some panels, and Tawnee taking some ribbons in the art show. Tawnee won the masquerade garb contest.
• 24 - Crown election and Champion tourney. Aramithris and Kat defeated Tawnee and Otter with 61% of the vote. Flag battles were held during the election. Nikos beat Ahira in the finals of the Champion tourney.

May

• 30 - (to 05/02) Crown feast and event at Caballo Lake. Aramithris was crowned king and Kat became Princess Consort. Terarin became a Duke and Knight of the Crown and Chandra became a Countess. Ivar finished second overall in the Olympiad and Gflos and M'Deth tied for first in the war events. Argon made knight of the Crown.
